Learn to make delicious homemade sauerkraut!

Join chef and wild food enthusiast Don King for a fun and informative workshop! Guests will learn about fermentation, and how it can transform simple ingredients into nutritious and delicious food.

The workshop will begin with a sampling of homemade sauerkraut, along with homemade sourdough bread. This homemade sauerkraut is not only delicious, but loaded with healthy acids and probiotics! (did you know that a mere two ounces of fermented sauerkraut can have more probiotics than an ENTIRE BOTTLE of probiotic supplements?!?)

When we’re done snacking, we’ll get to work on making a quart of sauerkraut for you to bring home and ferment. The fermentation time varies based on a few variables, but typically it’s ready in 5-10 days.

All ingredients will be provided, as well as the jars to store your kraut.

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING A KNIFE AND CUTTING BOARD TO CUT THE CABBAGE, AS WELL AS A LARGE BOWL FOR MIXING THE KRAUT, AND A STURDY WOODEN OR PLASTIC SPOON!

Space is limited, so the sooner you signup, the better!

The cost for the workshop is $20 per person, but it’s only $15 if you bring in a few canned or dry goods to donate to Kent Social Services!

Payments can be made with credit card or Paypal by clicking on the Buy Now button at the bottom of this page:
