I don’t have any Guided Hunts scheduled, but check back soon!
These hunts run rain or shine, so dress appropriately (with the exception of severe thunderstorms)
You will learn how find, identify, preserve, and prepare the various species of delicious spring mushrooms we have here in NE Ohio. Learn about morels, oysters, wood ears, Verpas, Gyromitras, and many other edible wild mushrooms.
Each participant will receive a laminated Spring Mushroom ID Card.
Participants should bring a basket or mesh bag to collect any mushrooms you find! If you have a pocket knife and/or a brush to clean your mushrooms, bring those along, too.
I also recommend bringing a water bottle and insect repellent.
I leave at least two weeks between hunts at any given area within the park. You can keep ALL of the mushrooms you find! It’s my goal that we find lots of edible mushrooms, with plenty for everyone to bring home to eat and enjoy. I lead all of my hunts in areas that I know have produced mushrooms in the past, but it’s impossible for me to make any guarantees…other than the thrill of the hunt!
- Once you have registered for an event there are no refunds. If you cancel and it’s not within 7 days prior to the event, I can offer credit towards a future event
- My liability insurance provider is requiring everyone to sign a hold harmless waiver prior to the event
Currently, my group hunts are being held at:
- West Branch State Park in Ravenna, OH
- Punderson State Park in Newbury, OH
- Mosquito Lake State Park in Cortland, OH

The following hunts are limited to 15 participants and tend to sell out, so register ASAP!
