Wild Fermentation: Kimchi Workshop
Saturday, October 21st, 2017
Kent Social Services in Kent, Ohio
Learn how to make kimchi, a delicious Korean “sauerkraut” that’s packed with flavor!
Each participant will make their own pint of kimchi to take home and ferment, which typically takes about 3-5 days. Traditional kimchi ingredients vary based on the region and availability of produce, so I’ll have lots of things for you to add to your batch, including:
- Napa cabbage
- Daikon radish
- Fresh ginger
- Fresh garlic
- Fresh chili peppers
- Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- Fish sauce/dried shrimp
You don’t like it too spicy? No problem, don’t add as much fresh chili peppers!
Vegan? Just leave out the seafood components!
All ingredients and canning jars will be provided, as well as a recipe to take home for your future homemade batches.
*Participants will need to bring a medium to large bowl to mix your kimchi!!!
The cost of the workshop is $25 per person, but it’s only $20 if you bring in at least 3 dry/canned goods to donate to Kent Social Services!
Registration is required and space is limited, so register ASAP! Payment can be made with a credit card using the Buy Now button below:
